In this video, I show you two simple ways to divide fractions in Microsoft Excel. The problem is 7/8 divided by 5/4.

In the first method, I simply type =(7/8)/(5/4) then press enter to get a solution of 0.7 or 7/10.

In the second method, I format the cells I’m going to enter the data into as fractions up to 3 digits. I then enter 7/8 into cell B5 and 5/4 into C5. In cell D5, I enter =B5/C5 then press enter. SInce I’ve formatted the cell as a fraction, my answer is 7/10.
