Before sending a spreadsheet to someone, it’s a best practice to ensure the spreadsheet is optimized to print its best. This is easy to do using Excel’s Page Layout tab.

First, you’ll want to look at the print preview to see how the data displays on the page. You may need to change the orientation from portrait to landscape and you may also need to adjust the margins.

Next, you can scale the content to fit by width and/or height, whether you want all the data on 1 page (select 1 page for both width and height) or choose to let Excel choose automatically.

Lastly, you can easily print the gridlines and headings under Sheet Options by checking the box next to print. Check your print preview throughout until your spreadsheet is optimized and be sure to save!
